I was aiming at $500 and that build would be adequate for most people, however I would want more for myself.

Where it comes up shortest is the graphics, but really only if a person games a lot and that card is otherwise satisfactory for movies and video editing.

I was a little disappointed my buddy decided for a laptop because I like to build a box occasionally.

Currently my own computer plans are on hold because of substantial dental work I'm having done that's using up my toy money.

Laptops carry a huge penalty in cost and performance and if you screw up the keyboard eating around it, you have a big problem.
