I see FB as entrenched, typical 1st to market "titan" ... I left on Jan 6th. It is a tool of the fascists. No matter how convenient it was for groups like you mention and I was in a couple that I did find helpful ... my conscience would allow me to continue there. FB is just downright evil. I don't see whatever Trump comes up with as directly competing with FB. There is a need for multiple other mediums. I think FB's dominance is sort of like the networks dominance 20 years ago ... bound to be diminished. FB is just not a growth story any more. I also think that people willing to put their advertising dollars there will be increasingly disillusioned -- the only thing it has going for it is the data mining. At some point there are diminishing returns to mining everyone's data -- there has to be. FB, GOOG, almost any interface you use to the internet is doing it ... I swear sometimes stuff I discuss on SI ... comes back to me in the form of marketing. Heck, I think, unless you use encryption on your text messages -- someone is getting in there. Had too many adds pop up in various places.

I agree that there are many valuable support groups on that platform, BUT only because it was the only one available... Over time, it has become a fascist platform and I very strongly believe it will sooner or later be replaced with a far more friendly and pro America based media platform... Of course, all beginning are difficult, but I'm putting my money on Donald to offer fierce competition and a far superior media platform than fake book has ever offered... I also believe that once Donald's platform is finally up and running that you're going to see a MASS EXODUS from fake book to Truth... GZ

They need to make a law where you can transfer your accounts from one social network to another, or have it where all the social networks are connected. Most of my family is on facebook I set up a MeWe account awhile back which is very similar to facebook and invited my family & friends to join me, I only got about 5 to join me. But I made family group pages on facebook that has lots of years of history. If I could transfer them I'm sure I would have more family members join me. Also, my community has a lot of information on facebook. Facebook has become like the white & yellow pages back in the day.
