SR: I've been noticing and commenting on the monthly volatility pattern of the S&P 100. it has an up cycle starting around the 28th and ending exactly on the 5th of each month. There's a reversal down after noon on the fifth , usually a dip around the 15th when the the mutual funds pay their money market dividends, a bit up then down again to the 27th. Look you'll see it growing in magnitude each month since last July. The 5th is dividend reinvestment day and the 1-5th is when new pension money floods into the system. :-) Just like a tide table!
