I want it to 'split' and immediately goto $125 again! (How about a 3 for 1 split, and goto $100?)

freeus- Off Topic-
Thanks, freeus. I've sometimes felt as though I wage a lonely battle for the cause of liberty on SI (though I must confess, it hardly ranks among the great sacrifices for the cause!). But it's nice to know I'm not all alone espousing these ideas.

I think what bothers me most is the denigration of plight of legitimate victims of coercion when the same word is used to describe what Microsoft allegedly did to Compaq and what Karagich did to the Bosnian Muslims. It's a manifestation of Newspeak that I'm not sure George Orwell quite considered, but that is quite useful to those seeking positions of political power.

Regards,

Larry

P.S. An intriguing thought occurred to me during my discussion on this thread. It seems plausible to me that by restraining Microsoft's aggressiveness, that the government may actually be damaging the success in the marketplace of alternatives to Windows. Consider this: had Microsoft and Compaq gotten hopelessly at odds with one another and Microsoft had cut Compaq off as a customer, then Compaq would have desparately sought out a competitive operating system. I suspect IBM would have been happy to oblige! Of course, Compaq and its shareholders would have sustained a loss, but those are part of the risks of doing business.
