Re: Middle Age Portfolio ... Add On Buy.

This portfolio currently has a portfolio yield of 3.9% and a dividend growth rate (last 5 years) of 5.7%. I would like to maintain the yield if possible while trying to increase the dividend growth number.

With this in mind, today I add to the ENB position. ENB has a 6.23% yield and its dividend growth has come in at 12% (last 5 years) indicating very fast growth.

With roots tracing back to a single Canadian pipeline in 1949, Enbridge is North America's largest midstream energy company.

The firm's oil and gas pipelines, terminals, storage facilities, and processing plants help connect the continent's most vital energy producing regions and earn most of its profits. A smaller portion of Enbridge's business consists of regulated natural gas distribution utilities and renewable power generation assets.

Being a Canadian company, I placed it in an Ira where it is exempt from foreign taxes.

This portfolio was updated on 11/2/21
Question:
Is the portfolio Balance of $549,589 based on closing prices on 11/1/21 for all the securities.??

(Probably a silly question--but just want to make sure I'm tracking it correctly)

@ Gary -- I posted those results after hours, so I'm assuming that included closing prices for that day.

I've been tracking the Middle Age Portfolio on Morningstar. Here are some interesting findings:

Middle Age Portfolio: Same $$ amount and holdings as of 11/2/21-----
Vs. Middle Age Portfolio with equal dollar amount of $1,000 in each holding.

Same $$ as Chowder 3.30 2.07 25.57 8.52 27.36 15.52 14.65

EQUAL $$ 2.68 1.95 27.62 10.08 30.16 16.68 15.15

PERIOD 1(M) 3(M) 12(M) 2020 2019 3 YEAR 5 YEAR

Equal $$ amount in each holding resulted in a better return for 12 month, 2020, 2019, 3 and 5 year returns.

Re: MIDDLE AGE PORTFOLIO ... PORTFOLIO UPDATED 11/30/21.

My goal is to try to present a balance between high dividend cash flows, dividend growth, and capital gain potential, so there will be a mix of assets.

The income objective is $36K in annual dividends and the time frame is end of 2023. That's an increase of 20% per year.
