That's correct. Powertel provides GSM-based PCS services in Atlanta area with NT and NOKA H/Ss. I heard they are trying to lure landline long-distance customers to their PCS services by offering low, flat rates for unlimited calls within the state or any of the 12 states that they cover.
AT&T Wireless(of course, who else??!!) offers TDMA-based PCS services in your area too.

Q-phone sells for ~$500. Sony's Z-phone sells for $400. No annual contract or activation fee is required. Both Sprint & PrimeCo no longer offer 300mins for ~$35/month. They now offer a wider variety of plans trying to cover the needs of those who buy a cell phone for their spouses to use only in the case of an emergency to those who conduct biz using cell phones and need 500-1000 mins/months.

The wirelss market is in a constant state of flux. A long-term investor must know the industry, its players, and the issues involved.

PS, Based on personal experience & equipment knowledge, I recommend the PrimeCo system over Sprint for now. When Sprint starts installing MOT BTSs with NT switches, I would look at them too.
