If you think otherwise you simply do not understand the ways of the world. Which is not unusual for those on the Left (see: Obama & Kerry thinking they Iran would adhere to some sort of anti-nuke agreement, esp. after Clinton's "Agreed Framework" which gave nukes to the North Koreans; not sure how many times you repeat the same mistakes before you "get it").

When you add the caveat "if it helps Republicans" to his phrase, it makes more sense from his point of view. If the Chinese government had funded groups to promote Biden in the 2020 election he would be frothing at the mouth. And he would be justified in his outrage. But, since it was to favor his cult leader, he is ok with it.
