Do they 'download' it anyway, and just turn 'it' off so that the time required is the same? (You know, kind-of turning the ICON off - ala NSCP!)

I wonder?

DOJ broadens Microsoft investigation www5.zdnet.com

The esteemed ilk sister weighs in again. This time it's something to do with the much dreaded Active Deskstop, or HyperActive Desktop, as I dubbed it after very brief experience. Only a brief quote here, purely for humorous purposes.

"OEMs have to ship the machines the way we build them," [Microsoft corporate spokesman Mark] Murray said. "We give the OEMs a channel of their own. But we do give the consumer complete and total freedom to delete one or all channels."

OEMs have to ship the machines the way we (Microsoft, the imperial we, I guess) build them? My, my, the "we are the world" vision is getting a little out of hand here. Another SMBP thing, I guess. Arrogant? No, just TRUTHful.

Cheers, Dan.
