Re: Old Folk Portfolio ... Buys and Sells. Today positions in MDLZ and SYY were sold. The yields were getting too low to meet the requirements for this portfolio. The proceeds from the sale of these positions, combined with the cash on hand were used to purchase the following: AMGN .. AQN .. CCI .. CLX .. LEG .. SJM .. VZ. The income objective for this year was $250K in annual dividends. The portfolio as it stands now will generate $268K. This portfolio has a yield of 4.30% with a 5 year dividend growth rate of 3.8%. The objective is to try and build the dividend income growth while maintaining a portfolio yield between 3-4%. Currently the number of CEF holdings is keeping the organic dividend growth numbers down, thus I'm looking to add a few more high dividend growth companies as I go along.
