My position in CSMA is distributed across Scottsdale, NDB and Ameritrade. What I said was Heidi never once pushed me to buy thru Texas Capital. One day last spring, while in between positions, I asked her to name a handful of stocks. She did and I dug a bit and ventured on my own into them, but not thru her firm. I also gave her a couple of option picks.

If you do your own dd, why not use a discount broker? David's decision to transfer his shares to Texas Capital, as a "thank you" for the recommendation was in no way inconsistent that the shares were originally purchased thru a discount firm.

Hope that clarifies the apparent inconsistency.
