I took a finance course with Professor Jimmy Rogers in the early 1980's. He brought in his partner, George Soros, during one class. A student asked him how he picked stocks. George said he wasn't a great stock picker and that 2/3s of his picks were losers. Another student asked him how he got so rich if 2/3s of his positions were losers? George said that he let his winners run while getting rid of his losers early on for minor losses.

Interesting, I said to myself, what other profession can one become a billionaire by being wrong 2/3s of the time?
