Addi, I dunno about AMD. This is not the only example of that company's arrogance. It also has an extravagant executive suite which might be okay if the execs were making the shareholders a ton of money but that is not the case.

On the other hand, I am writing this on an AMD powered computer which has never given me a moment's trouble. I don't care about Intel inside so long as the device does what I need it to do.

I think AMD might have garnered a larger slice of Intel's pie if it didn't have manufacturing problems at some critical points. But, if you snooze you lose. I just don't see how AMD can really compete against Intel's manufacturing prowess.

Good luck, Beachbumm

Addi:

I prefer IDTI over AMD in that market, even though they're a bit late. Think their C6 is superior, so is management; stock finally doing well lately also. Don't have a read on AMD's stonewalling; they've been watching too many White House press releases I suppose.

<Can anyone give a reason as why AMD would do such a thing and to go head to head against the so called analysts who have billions of dollars of their big shot clients?>

I have followed AMD for 3 years and it has been one wild roller coaster ride. This move is in keeping with all the other things Jerry Sanders does. You can read anything into it you want. Like they don't need analysts because they are going to be bought out for some astronomical price, for example. I finally got sick to my stomach from the roller coaster and its failed promises to perform and sold my last position at year end for a nice tax loss. I don't even visit the AMD thread anymore, but it was fun to see this comment here.
