My "educated guess" is that DEC has second sources for all their chips but
the Alpha ... the Alpha probably needs a very high speed process. This
one chip could be "ported" over to the Intel .25um process without too much
trouble/cost. I don't think in any of the announcements that I read said
anything about Intel supporting DEC's other chip needs.
