I also get a kick out of their hedonic adjustments and substitution tweeks. The gizmo has more options so we'll ignore that it costs twice as much. The substitution one is the one that gets me personally. If chicken goes up, they assume I'll buy beef instead. But due to a tick bite and alpha gal, I can't eat beef or pork so I still have to eat the chicken. Of course longer term, everyone gets screwed Chicken goes up this month, so everyone buys beef which makes it go up, so everyone buys pork. The CPI never changes but chicken, beef and pork are now all higher. Magic!
