Does anyone know what the resolution of HDTV is supposed to be. This new DLP projector of TI's is interesting. (See News)

Market for Ultraportable Projectors"

Well I couldn't make the hyperlink work, but its the last couple of days news.

Anyway, why couldn't you just buy a HDTV receiver without a screen and use the DLP projector as the screen. That's what I do now with regular TV. I have a LCD projector and when I have company over for a football game, etc. I just plug the LCD into the TV and project the image onto a slide screen. Voila large screen TV ca. 6 ft. The resolution is not that good but it works.

This of course will work only if the DLP is not to expensive. The LCD I have I had to buy for my business and it cost more than a large screen TV, but since I had it why not use it.

p.s. The LCD I have is huge, weighs ca. 40 lbs and is appx 16x24x8. Not very portable, but I make do.
