The only effect I see from the fight on global warming is the increased use of natural gas instead of coal. Nuclear energy has been stable since 1990-s. Reportedly, I have seen that natural gas is even worse than coal because of how it is produced (fracking releases a lot of methane, a greenhouse gas worse than carbon dioxide) Renewables are predominantly wind farms, solar only a tiny slice.

Oh, and USA became a net oil exporter in 2020. Yay! This was a long time coming, not just CoVid related.
