For sure on writing calls when I'm in positive territory! That's when it's fun! It's a win win. I just write them above my basis.
You gotta figure even if you think you'll lose the shares at that point you can buy more shares and sell call options on them as soon as they're bought. You sell the calls above your basis every time.
What I did with selling the puts was insure I'd have shares. As it turns out I'll make money on them too.
Had those puts been exercised and I ended up with the shares they still would have decreased my basis to about 27 1/2.
I gotta tell you some of this stuff was an accident! It did help me realize though, there are a lot more ways to make money than on the stock itself!
