The real question is "what in life today isn't on shaky ground?"

It must contribute to poor mental health.

Cramer is out here in SF this week and he commented that the young tech workers are all getting hammered with booze (and perhaps other chemicals) on a daily basis because they don't have to show up at an office every day to work. I handled stress the same way when I was in my 20s and would not have made 33 if I didn't quit drinking at age 31...

I remember drugs and alcohol became such a problem in the 80s (remember Bush 43 got caught in that too in the 80s) that HP made it an official policy to FIRE any manager caught doing any illegal drug with anyone working under them and they famous "beer busts" were less frequent.

It will be interesting to see how we come out of this pandemic... will the insanity continue to a "Second Roaring 20s" or will the young decide they want to cash in on their crazy crypto and EV stocks to buy a home to start families and protect against massive inflation continuing for years...
