When it comes to discovering the truth and understanding another person's perspective, I am very open minded. The only caveat is that it has to work. Meaning that an argument should should be clearly reasoned and show where, when, and why it works or doesn't. So if you want to make your argument on absolute valuations rather than relative valuations - then so be it. But you need to make it well and show when/why it works and when/why it fails. That is caring about the truth rather than just arguing.
