The Cowen news posting was irrelevant because whoever wrote and posted the report for them did not understand or know about the new modem standard being issued today. This will soon SOLVE COMS inventory problem because people will now be confident about what they will buy. The reason why COMS will be able to ship the new standard so soon as that its a piece of cake to upgrade the modems with software.

Another thing. Every computer, including the sub $1000 units now come with modems. Within one or two years there will not exist an 'aftermarket" for analogue modems since they will all be "original equipment". Thus costs of marketing will go down and the only aftermarket will be for specialized connections (ethernet, cable modem, and other fancy stuff) where COMS is well positioned.

Cowen did its customers a disservice. COMS should climb today. The analyst should admit his bad timing and admit that the situation has changed drastically.
