I would get a 5800x instead of a 5700G.
Also, I would personally go with nVidia card, but that is b/c I want to program and run my own AI engine. For most people it may make sense to use AMD's own graphics card.

Here's a review that you may want to look at youtube.com

I'm not so keen on the low RAM capacity. 16GB is so 2012. You typically need to double the RAM for every new iteration of Windows, so that means 32GB at least.

I think Windows 11 Pro allows up to 64GB RAM. That would stretch the useful life of the machine somewhat as well.

Is this for your protege?

The most important criteria, is whether it meets ESG standards.

I can’t tell whether it is sufficiently Politically Correct, till I know its carbon footprint. My laptop is rated V4, because it was assembled by a corporation who only hires vegan virgin vaccinated virtuous people. It is an almost religious experience, just waiting for it to boot up.

Maybe Sun Tzu could chime in on the RAM memory limits of Windows 11. I think the big upper level limits are for servers.

Re: DRAM

On x86, Windows 10 can address upto 2TB. But this does not mean it will be useful to you. Validate how much your software can use. For example, that crap IB pushes is limited to 4GB and defaults to a fraction of it (I think 368MB). That alone tells you what you are dealing with, but I didn't know it back then.

I looked for the operating system, re: "Windows11 Home".. whatever that may be.

I have a 2yr old lessor grade Acer "Nitro" gaming computer, also with 2 hard drives (a must) of which 1/ssd.
It has a stripped down Windows10 operating system.. the up&go & shutdown is extremely fast (even with a VPN), 13 tabs on the open w/Chrome & usually
another +7 or so b.s. tabs of whatever, w/no bogging down.
(I'm being Microsoft prompted to do a Windows11 upgrade, of which scares the shit out of me)

Your PC is much faster than mine, but it would be a beast with a stripped down Windows11.

reply to Qone0 - there is a significant performance difference between the 3060 and the 3060 Ti (best choice for performance) Nvidia video card ...

Tom's Hardware & other tech writers have a variety of articles over the recent 20 months comparing the two ... I purchased the 3060 Ti in my newest desktop

personally, I would not settle for less than 32GB of RAM for trading execution & running software, I purchased 64GB of RAM since RAM is not expensive

the AMD processors beat any Intel processor placed in a desktop Tower for trading purposes ...
a July 10, 2021 article at Tom's Hardware which is 6 pages long provides the detail

fyi - differing info exists on the topic, though I believe the articles to be accurate which say Windows 11 will occupy approx. 64GB of your drive storage
