My guess, Bat has been talking to the Big 3 and others long before this. In Bat's announcement of the the 10 Jan 98 test, they said they were talking with several European companies and that licenses would follow. The Lockheed announcement 2 Feb 98 confirms this. For the time being, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

This appears to be an honest company run by honest people. They are a bit overwhelmed by all the investor attention they are getting, but they will adjust.

The article in USA Today Message 3355852 indicates General Motors, Ford, Chrysler and Toyota would begin shipping more fuel efficient models this fall, 1999. So they are under the gun to get something done.

Some draw backs I see, are that $50 million for R&D that Clinton has proposed in the budget for green cars. This makes the big three and others want to chase their own initiatives rather than pay a licenses to Bat. Another, is that Bat may be getting in over its head. Joe is a retired engineer/inventor, think what Bat could do if someone like Iacoca was at the helm. BTW Iacoca has gone with another electric car company.
