J Saf What are your thoughts on Printrak's announcement yesterday regarding compliance with cross platform searches? This sounds like something that down the road could become a requirement for all AFIS systems. It makes a lot of sense to be able to search the databases of other states even if the use different systems. Another question, there are 4 companies with Appendix G tenprinters. Can any of these systems work on any of the big integrators systems? What I am reaching for is can a Identix tenprinter be plugged into a Printrak system and a Printrak station be plugged into a NEC system and still work? Do the workstations just create an image at a certain resolution (basically a generic image) that will work with any of the systems that are being used today?
