Jaquet Droz is a watch brand that never held great resell value but that means a deal for you if you ever want to try a used model.

The movements are nicely finished but sort of pedestrian from a horological standpoint, imo.

Most of their timepieces but especially the Grande Seconde models were notable for the dial variations. This included a lot of contrived limited editions with exotic materials, there might be a few dozen dial variations including precious metals, enamel, engraved guilloche patterns, ivory, semiprecious stones like opal, and many more. I've handled and tried on a few of these and they are well made watches. Unlike your earlier comment about watches being investments I consider this the flip side where a well bought used timepiece will hold its value and can be worn and enjoyed without worrying about making bank on the back end. But unlikely a good investment unless the market trends change or just a place marker for higher inflation.
