I hope you didn’t think I was in favor of gov jobs. But, statists and socialists like it. From their pov, nothing is better than yet another family depending on the gov paycheck for their livelihoods.

Socialized / nationalized medicine would be a huge step towards socialism. Close to another 20% of the nation's breadwinners could become dependent on gov paychecks.

Govt jobs are zero sum

I'd argue they are actually negative. Beyond a certain point they are more of a hindrance than anything else. A lot of the people are incompetent. I believe there is a concept of "spending value", Some generate retrns and some are just throwing it away.
