I exaggerated to make a point. The point being that real life is messy and that a jury is there to judge if they would have done any better in your shoes rather than what a dry legal code says. This was to contrast with your opening line about "from a human standpoint."

The jury is there in fact to consider the real human standpoint rather than the purely legal perspective.

Your other point was, "I'm thinking personal responsibility for one's actions, is becoming a joke."

Which I think is highly exaggerated, but leaving that aside, I asked you to think about all the aspects of personal responsibility. In my hypothetical example, it was how you would deal with the jerk at the bar. In the more complex case of Kyle Rittenhouse, it is what responsibility would you assign to the mob and to the guy who was going to bludgeon Kyle with his skateboard? Would you not have fired your gun if you were chased by an angry mob that was calling out loud to get you and one of them tried to bludgeon you?
