Not a bad idea. Writing covered calls and using strangles with options
will be much LESS risky than owning the stock by itself. It is worth
pursuing as you will generate more income, lower your cost basis and
not have to worry so much about stocks taking a dip.

The price to play? 1. Buy the McMillan book "Options as a Strategic
Investment" and 2. Take a couple of days and read Herm's thread on
SI. It is several case studies on this topic. You must read the
first 4,000 posts (correct - no typo) in order and you will be
in good shape to start your covered call strategy.
