Compared to $250,000,000, you may be right. But do you know the real after tax portion?

Were the lawyers/lawfirm getting no money upfront, but compensated later?

I'd guess there's money, but a specific amount (percentage) for the lawyers. I've gotten mailings from the family, re the case, so it's obvious they have expenses, but Discover Card (formerly part of Morgan Stanley) characterized supporters before they knew the facts. I think the case will be explained until they get it real.

The amount could be handled similar to a Structured Settlement. Get it over 40-60 years. Consider funding a Roth IRA, before they're not available.

Being "set for life" is a good idea, but not the only approach.
