I saw that video and have had a few close encounters with deer. I had a bird fly through my spokes and that shredded the bird. I had a bird fly into my face and it felt like I was hit by a line drive. I have been dive bombed by sparrow hawks as well and chased by a few dogs.

According to the Aussie, the snake but his show and the tiger snake is a close relative of the cobra.

I was drug down by a truck in Colorado between Salida and Canyon City. Shredded my jersey and I lost a lot of skin. Not a scratch on my helmet ad i did a great tuck and roll. I have crashed a lot and never put out my hands or arms to brace myself. I did a complete flip in a Tri one time. All skinned up but placed in my age division.

I have seen a lot of very bad bike accidents. The most frequent are bike on bike. I was riding down into Salt River Canyon in AZ once and there were all these giant plants with tons of thorns sticking out over the road. It was a mountain descent so you could go really fast. I took my time on the descent as these trees freaked me out. A gut ahead of me hit one. It shredded his rain jacket, wrecked his bike and I think he had broken bones. I waited with another rider until emergency vehicle showed up. It was a week long ride and I never saw him again.

I started riding with a helmet (reluctantly) in the 80's. I lived in a subdivision with a lot of little kids just learning to ride. The kids liked to show me their bikes and I'd sometimes ride down our street with them. A couple of moms thanked me profusely for wearing a helmet as they said their kids wanted to imitate me. I wore a helmet forever after that.

I couldn't see the video. Something blocked it...

I had a few fat lips but not from bike crashes....
