Steve, just a semantic point here. I believe a buy/write technically is when you do the actions at the same time. The advantage is you get to sell the call at the ask, rather than the bid at that time. For example, if MDCO was at 16.5 x 16 5/8, you would buy the stock for 16 5/8, and the 17.5 call bid asked was 3/4 x 1, you would sell the call for 1. If this is wrong I would appreciate a correction from someone out there.
