Thanks, I never read Carnegie but I did read Stephen Covey and he espouses a similar technique - "seek first to understand". It takes a lot of practice but yields big dividends. Thanks for the article! I’ve just started reading Malcolm Gladwell”s “Talking to Strangers.” Still early on in the book, but it looks good. He focuses on what leads to misunderstanding in our communications with others. I expect it to be quite an informative read. His books usually are.
