Michael,

Its no surprise Iomega has sold more cartridges last quarter than Syquest in its entire existence. IOM has sold more drives, more people using zips than any of SYQT products to date. What's your point? Unless you have a crystal ball, you don't know if SPARQ,QUEST or any of SYQT products will outsell IOM's products in the future.

RE: Are SyQuest Sales Increasing?

Looking back, I think it's almost impossible to determine through the press release disk units information whether sales are increasing. I haven't compared those numbers recently but I can recall that in the past, accuracy was quite suspect and caused me to discount the information.

IMO, the SEC filings tend to give the most accurate picture of what's happening. Unfortunately, this info is typically so old, it isn't all that useful. It's almost down to "gut feel".

If I had to guess, I'd say that SparQ units sales are taking off nicely (constrained by production capacity), SyJet sales are growing modestly, EZFlyer sales are flat at best, and older products continue to fade away. This combination would seem to indicate overall sales growth.

IMO, the key is clearly margins coupled with SparQ ramp-up success. If the Edheads can come through on these two points, things could start looking up for these folks. That's a big IF however.
