I think hospitals still get a large extra payment for taking care of covid patients. Add to that the possibility of political pressure, and numbers may start increasing.

There is a sleight of hand taking place, on a grand scale. The whole world seems convinced that the numbers of cases are the most important thing, regardless of the severity of the disease. The reality is - it’s the other way around. If the disease is relatively benign, the numbers of cases are meaningless. And things seem to be drifting that way.
