I admit I didn't read the entire article but I did not see the primary reason listed for taking K. Assuming you need extra D3 to get your 25 hydroxy levels above 50 ng/mL, you need to ensure the D3 does not cause excess calcium being deposited into soft tissues like arteries. Vitamin K facilitates depositing the calcium into hard tissues like teeth and bones.

My wife alerted me to Super K because she had osteoporosis and her doc recommended D3 and LifeExtension's Super K (K1 and K2 are both needed). After a few years, her bone scans reveal she has progressed from osteoporosis to osteopenia (i.e. the right direction for stronger bones).

My Doc (at the time before I moved away) followed her and gave me her info. I haven't read her in a while. He told me Vit D 5000ui/day and get all my K's from the diet. But he also told me to switch a portion of my red meat to green leafy veggies which I hate. :(
