Chuck Todd Says Vaccine Mandates Are ‘Pro-Life,’ Abortion Access Is ‘Freedom To Choose’: Tate Reeves Crushes Him

Virginia Kruta

NBC’s Chuck Todd pressed Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves (R) to accept vaccine mandates as “pro-life” actions, while simultaneously suggesting that access to abortion should be protected as an individual liberty.

Reeves made an appearance Sunday on “Meet the Press,” joining Todd for a discussion on the emergence of a new coronavirus variant and Mississippi’s vaccination rate as well as the 15-week abortion ban that will face the scrutiny of the Supreme Court in the coming weeks.

Todd began by asking Reeves whether he felt the Mississippi law — which bans abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy — could be enacted without overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, asking also whether Reeves believed Roe had been wrongly decided.

Reeves said that in addition to believing that the 1973 decision was wrong, he also believed that there was nothing limiting individual states from imposing their own restrictions. “I believe very strongly that if you read the Constitution there is nowhere in the Constitution that prohibits individual states, states like Mississippi to limit access to abortions,” he said.

Reeves also pointed out that even if the 15-week ban was allowed to stand, Mississippi’s law would still be less restrictive than the abortion laws in 37 of 42 European countries, adding, “When you look at, for instance, abortion laws in California and New York, they are much more similar to those abortion laws in China and North Korea than they are to Europe or many other countries around the world.”

Todd then attempted to use Reeves’ own comments about his opposition to vaccine mandates to argue that a vaccine mandate was actually a “pro-life” position.

“This is a power grab by the federal government. We’ve seen this time and time again by the Biden administration, and now we’re seeing their strong desire to trying to make decisions on behalf of individual Americans. We believe in freedom and individual liberty,” Reeves said of the vaccine mandates.

“‘Freedom and individual liberty,'” Todd repeated. “Why should the state of Mississippi tell a woman what they should do with their body? Why shouldn’t they have that individual freedom on their body, particularly in the first 20 weeks?”

“Well, this is a prime example, and the far left loves to scream, ‘My body, my choice.’ What I would submit to you, choice, is they absolutely ignore the fact that in getting an abortion there is an actual killing of an innocent unborn child that is in that womb,” Reeves replied. “Here is what we know about babies that are 15 weeks. We know that they have a heartbeat. We know that those babies at 15 weeks actually can open and close their hands. We know that they have developing lungs, and we know that those babies at 15 weeks can feel pain, and so when you talk – the difference between vaccine mandates and abortions is vaccines allow you to protect yourself. Abortions actually go in and kill other American babies. Let’s just put this in perspective –”

“Governor, hang on a minute. A vaccine is about protecting a larger community, about preventing spread. You could argue a vaccine mandate is a pro-life position,” Todd interrupted.

Reeves agreed that one could make that argument, but he went on to argue that despite the fact that most agree vaccines are effective at preventing severe disease and death, vaccinated people were still spreading COVID-19.

“Conversely, when you’re talking about the pro-life position of protecting unborn babies, let’s put it in perspective,” Reeves said, turning back to abortion. “The fact is, during this very horrible and challenging time since I was sworn into office in January of 2020, Chuck, we’ve had 800,000 American lives lost because of COVID. My heart aches for every single one of those individuals that has died because of COVID. Over 10,000 Mississippians. My heartbreaks for every one of them. Since Roe, 62 million babies have been aborted and, therefore, killed. That’s why I think it’s very important that people like myself stand up for those unborn children because they don’t have the ability to stand up for themselves.

Levi Strauss Provides ‘Racial Trauma’ Help For Employees Troubled By Rittenhouse Verdict
Ben Zeisloft

3-4 minutes

After Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted, Levi Strauss tapped a “racial trauma specialist” to counsel employees.

During a riot last year in Kenosha, Wisconsin, then-17-year-old Rittenhouse — acting in self-defense — killed two men and injured a third. Earlier this month, Rittenhouse was cleared of all charges.

Nevertheless, the iconic clothing company took pains to address employees’ “pain and trauma.”

“With the news that Kyle Rittenhouse was not convicted in the shooting of three individuals — two of whom lost their lives — during racial justice protests last year, this is a difficult day for many,” wrote Levi Strauss chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer Elizabeth Morrison in a letter to staff obtained by the Daily Mail.

“To help promote safety, sharing and to encourage healing, I’ll be hosting a fireside chat and Q&A with Dr. Jamila Codrington, a licensed psychologist and racial trauma specialist in early December,” she continued. “Dr. J and I will talk about the mental and psychical impacts of back-to-back social and racial justice events and trauma coping mechanisms during our discussion.”

Morrison wrote that “resources to help [employees] impact social justice, equality and drive positive change.” She noted the benefits of “getting educated and informed on the issue of gun violence” and “reaching out to your elected officials to let them know just how important common-sense gun laws are to you.”

The Daily Mail reported that Codrington holds staunch left-wing views:

Jamila Codrington is a New York-licensed psychologist who has appeared on various panels, claiming that “black people have been duped into thinking we do not matter.”

Codrington appeared on the Karen Hunter radio show in January for a discussion about how “we must decolonize our minds.”

“One of the main weapons of colonialism and white supremacy was to destroy our memory and to separate us from our wealth – our cultural wealth,” she said.

A Levi Strauss spokesperson confirmed to both the Daily Mail and Fox Business that the email was sent to all employees in the United States.

Beyond Levi Strauss, California State University, Long Beach gave students and faculty the chance to attend a “debriefing” of Rittenhouse’s acquittal, which would be attended by staff from the Counseling and Psychological Services office. University spokesman Jim Milbury told The College Fix in an email, “When there are higher-profile events and issues in the public discourse, it is not uncommon for our university to provide spaces for our campus community to discuss those topics.”

Meanwhile, Douglas Haynes — the chief diversity officer for the University of California, Irvine — told students that the trial “does not end the reckoning about systemic racism in the United States.”

“These multi-racial protests were grounded in a call for racial justice and the end of police brutality,” he wrote. “Rittenhouse imposed himself on the protests in Kenosha. His assistance was not requested. It was as much about resisting the calls of protestors as it was to defend property and render first aid.”

That is very alarming! Just a short year ago, none of us would have imagined that this could even be contemplated in the United States!

I could as far back as Clinton. I told some conservative colleagues at work that the streets would run red with blood and they laughed at me. They are not laughing now.

If you study Marxism, the progression and tactics are similar. There was a vert active Communist underground here in the 30's and 40's. It was hammered into dormant but has gained momentum in recent years. In the 60's and 70's it began its plan of decimating the underpinnings of American society and greatness - our strong moral ethic. This played out in the schools and media.

Watergate led to a massive influx of far left radicals. America was still center-right but conservatives eschew government and quasi governmental positions (i.e. school boards). Every surge of the left led to a counter surge by the right.

The rise of globalism, social media, big tech further emboldened the left. Rinos were accomplices of the downfall. The Russian commies tried to infiltrate the disaffected but that only went so far and didn't dent the moral fabric. The Chinese played a different game - capitalism. They played to the moneyed.

Post Reagan all presidents have been complicit in the institutionalization of big government, big business and global operations. Bummer took it a step further and he was full on Communist. I was quasi surprised that he didn't attempt a coup but in a way they did. DJT shocked the hell out of them.

The depths and weaponization of the government was revealed by his tenure and the stolen election of 2020. The tide had gone out and the left was caught with its pants down.

When they started espousing Communism in public, that was the tell all.

This is the left, this is who they are. The majority of the population is not there but complacency runs high.

I saw where is was heading a long time ago. They replay the same playbook over and over.
