It just comes up as an icon next to the ticker symbol in your watchlist. You have to hover over it or click on it. It usually appears a few weeks prior to ex-dividend date

Re: ThinkorSwim Platform

Go to the Marketwatch, Calendar Tab
Select watchlist from dropdown
Click on a date in the calendar
All events will be listed - dividends, earnings, conference calls.
Click on an event to view details - for dividends, TOS will provide the amount and the ex-dividend, record and payment dates

You can even go back and select a date in a previous month.

I did it the ole fashioned way.

Made a copy of all my holdings on a Word Doc.

Pulled up SA and searched the Ticker one by one to find the ex-date.

Built a Spreadsheet and recorded everything - Month by Month and Ticker by Ticker.

Sometimes the good ole fashioned way saves time in the long run but in the short time it took me about three hours. Hope this helps a little.

"How do you customize the watchlist to show the ex-dividend date? I can't find that field to add. I would like to see these dates in one place."

In my Excel file I list all my dividend-payers by month and add a "+" next to their symbol to indicate when each company typically raises.

At the beginning of each month I turn on the dividend view (in positions) in Fidelity. SA has one that would work too. Then I write down which companies have ex-div and pay dates during the month on an index card (ex-divs on one side, pays on the other). Once the month is over I throw it away.

Pay day is more important to me than ex-div. I only worry about that when I'm buying or selling and not much even then.
