The idea that that kind of disparate treatment is included in the bill is outrageous to me.

These people can only think in corrupt terms. I'm really sick of it.
I expect such thinking from fanatics and apparatchicks. What’s disturbing is that they’re not afraid to use such language - because no one will call them out. Some potential objectors will be bribed by some goodies in other parts of the same legislation. Others may worry that it may interpreted like a defense of Musk and foreign manufacturers - rather than American workers.

Relatively few will know that the Gov should simply stay the heck out of such issues. Corruption may benefit some, in the short run. But ultimately, everyone suffers.

From what I see, principled politicians are an exception, not the rule.
