Thanks John, there is a lot of wisdom in your words. I am still trying to understand the last couple of sentences...

In my view the struggle of which you speak is articulated by the "myth" of Sisyphus.

In Greek mythology Sisyphus or Sisyphos was the founder and king of Ephyra (now known as Corinth). He was punished for cheating death twice by being forced to roll an immense boulder up a hill only for it to roll down every time it neared the top, repeating this action for eternity.

This is the battle that we wage. It is never won, part of life and worth fighting. We go through times when we have it good and tend to forget about the struggle.

This is why we have a 2nd Amendment.

We all have to be engaged.

It is why we see American flags in foreign lands, what we have here is seen as their hope. As Ronald Reagan said, "Once we lose freedom here, there is no place else to go"

EDIT: It is also not that complicated and you are not simple. Feel the power!
