< See a pattern?>

The pattern I see: every problem is becoming a software problem. In every industry, the dominant advantage is whoever has the best software. Or, to take it one step further, whoever has the best software engineers.

Cars are becoming a software platform.

My toaster oven has a more robust CPU than the first PC I owned.

Everything, literally everything, has a chip in it. My dog is chipped.

The success of any corporation is proportional to the quantity and quality of their software engineers.

The only exception: hard assets required to make the hardware to hold software.
