From the Millard County Chronicle Progress Facebook page:

[*** QUOTE START ***]

A federal grand jury has indicted the perpetrators of a massive tax fraud scheme operated for years out of Millard County involving solar tax credits. Neldon and Glenda Johnson were charged with multiple counts of criminal contempt in U.S. District Court, according to an indictment filed on Wednesday. The indictment includes a recitation of multiple incidents involving the Johnsons' repeated refusal to comply with court orders during the long-running federal civil court proceedings involving the $50 million fraud the pair orchestrated and the assets they lavished on themselves and others. One contempt charge, for example, recites an incident previously reported where the couple was discovered to have dumped documents in a local trash transfer station. It's unclear as yet whether the couple has been taken into custody. Look for more details on this case's latest twist in next week's Chronicle Progress.

[*** QUOTE END ***]

Sure is a pretty day.

From the court docket for case: 2:21-cr-00513 titled:

INDICTMENT
VIOS 18 U.S.C. § 401(3)-Contempt
Case: 2:21-cr-00513
Assigned To : Parrish, Jill N.
Assign. Date: 12/7/20213

12/13/2021 5 AMENDED ORDER SETTING ZOOM HEARING as to Neldon Johnson: Initial Appearance/Arraignment set for 1/7/2022 at 02:00 PM in Judges Chambers before Magistrate Judge Cecilia M. Romero.

Due to the jails quarantine requirements, all hearings are set for zoom hearings.

A similar docket entry shows Glenda Johnson's "turn in the barrel" to be at 02:30 PM on the same day.

Apparently the Johnsons will be in jail at that time.

Are they already in jail, or is that something they can still look forward to with great anticipation?

Maybe they posted bail so they wouldn't have to share shower space with some despicable criminals?

If so, how much was the bail, and where did they get the funds to post bail? Their personal assets have been frozen for several months (or, in Shepard-speak, for "many, many" months).

Sure is a pretty day.
