Re: BA and AVGO ...

I agree with you about BA but since this one is speculative I need to start it at some point and thought I would start small here. I won't be adding to it until I see some progress.

As to AVGO, I don't know if you've read my latest comment on my thread (seen here):

Message 33614436

It relates to the current condition of the market and how going forward it's no longer value vs growth but simply buying quality and quality is defined by companies with a strong balance sheet, strong earnings quality, strong cash flow quality and strong operating efficiency.

According to Jefferson Research, here's how AVGO rated out:

Earnings Quality - Strongest
Cash Flow Quality - Strongest
Balance Sheet - Strongest
Operating Efficiency - Strong
Valuation - Low Risk

So to me, based on current market conditions and AVGO meeting all of the criteria of a quality company as I define it, it merited me adding to it today.

If others feel against it I'm okay with that, I'm not trying to sell AVGO to people, I'm simply showing what I do and explaining why.

My only problem with them was they have to much reliance on AAPL and I didn't want another like that. Though I think like QCOM they are making moves to lessen that risk, AAPL relationships can be feast or famine ones in the blink of an eye. And any "roll up" company has to get them all right just as you suggest which early on bothered me too.

I have been wrong on them it seems, I'll live and being able to SWAN in retirement matters to me.

I am genuinely happy for those that have done well with them and hope that continues. I think 2022 may be a bumpy ride for many of them brought up here.

Re: "Not convinced BA has changed the corporate culture just yet."

I don't think they have. I don't believe the current CEO is the one to do it, either.

That said, if you want a new airliner, there are only two places to go for all but the smallest ones. As airlines recover, Boeing will recover.
