"I have found myself in a number of situations where I finally relented about my concerns and simply gave in to company performance. NVDA and AVGO are just two of many examples. I came to the conclusion "prove me wrong and I'll buy" and they proved me wrong so I bought. ... Ha!"

Yes - when I first started I used to tell people that buying was a lot like dating for me. The first buy was like a first date - try it out, get familiar with a company, see if I feel comfortable with it. It was the second buy that demonstrated a commitment.

I've since done so much more work and think (hope?) I've improved enough in assessing companies, whether by an improved process or just experience, that I don't do that - that first buy means I'm willing to make a second, third, etc.

AVGO would have served me well using my dating analogy - another that fit the same was ALB some time back.
