Aren't rising rates generally not good for REITS and Utilities ? (Hold that thought :)

I agree on Powell... Thought long ago he would be late ( ... The failure of transitory .. well short transitory... everything is transitory wrt man) may cause overshoot ? He has been pretty steady Eddie without the bafflegab of Mr. MaGoo

of course it depends on how rates go.... I don't think they can go that high without the wheels falling off the bus...

again as reference I always think back to when I was making 15% on Canada Savings Bonds and my first Mtg was 10.?? % and renewed at 12.??& Today 2.?? You can still get under 3% in Canada for a 5 year term.. so seems banks not really expecting huge hikes... our rates by nature tied to US... So the REITS/Utilities may be a good plan... since 'high' rates now is comparatively trivial to what we have lived... threat of seemingly high rates could even produce more bargoons before the reality of how low rates really are sinks in ?

Fed needs to accumulate some dry powder for next downturn...
