That equation of time is just a fancy way of saying the true "solar sun noon" time. Simple version Mother Nature uses a watch that's more accurate then the more modern day way we use to track time. And yup the wobble you could say changes that we don't spin around the sun in the same way depending on where we are in the year.

Very little light pollution at the cabin so the annual meteor showers on a clear sky nigh are like a fireworks show.

I have seen some amazing night skies in other places like in the desert where they often were my bedroom ceiling but pretty sure peace traveling on the ocean ones would beat them all.
