<<herniated disc>>

I've had two prolapsed discs, sciatica down one leg for one instance, down the other leg for the other, several years later. Could not move at all at times. I needed crutches, and I was told by the NHS "to come in so they could have them fitted" Geepers, talk about stress, as if that was possible. -lol-. I keep crutches stored now, just in case. I did see doctors, the doctor for the second instance was very good. It problem reoccurred several times over the years, usually after I had done something silly like dig a trench for a water main and did not follow the prescribed manner for shovelling dirt, but I learned to recover myself now. I still have to be a little careful, started getting pains on my left side sitting too long in front of the computer, but I interchange with a kneeling chair now and it seems to have done the trick.

Walking a mile a day, or more, does wonders for my system and I think light but steady exercise relieves stress too. I sometimes try to convince myself I am too busy to go for a walk but that is plain baloney. It is priority number 1 and anything else is of secondary importance, and I learned that the hard way.

So you have checked it's not shingles? I noted you mentioned swelling near your eyes.
