Hi, Thomas!! Yes, Thomas Jefferson and Franklin Roosevelt both had lovers. Thomas Jefferson had a serious relationship with a slave woman he owned, and I believe had children with her. He freed her upon his death. There was a movie made about this relationship, and perhaps someone who knows more will pop in with the details.

Roosevelt had a long-time relationship outside his marriage. I believe her name was Lucy Mercer. I am sorry I don't have time to do actual research to answer your question right now--I am heading out to do stained glass and take my child to drawing class. He well may have died in her arms, but I don't remember the details. Mrs. Roosevelt liked, um, women as far as I can recall, sexually speaking. Many books have been written on these relationships, and I read several of them, but it was so many years ago I cannot remember the details.

Nelson Rockefeller, incidentally, had a heart attack making love to his mistress and died. George Bush is believed to have had a mistress when he was in the White House, Jennifer Fitzgerald.

Just in the case you are bringing up this matter to add support to Clinton's behavior, I would argue that these men were not sexual predators, did not use subordinates for non-reciprocal sex as far as we know, did not commit other serious felonies, as this president has been alleged to commit, practiced discretion, and kept their sexual lives private. Obviously, historically we are also talking about different standards of behavior.
