Bob,

The primary competition is COMS. They are a formidable foe but are currently working on integrating 3 separate brands into one (3Com, US Robotics, and Megahertz). In the past, this was one of the reasons that XIRC had problems (COMS would come into the market and basically price XIRC out of the game) but with the ramp up of the Malaysian manf. facility, overall growth in the end-user market, and the speed based distibution channel, this should help smooth out the quarters. There probably is enough room for 2 companies but they need to have strong R&D capabilities. XIRC plans on giving monthly channel updates to the analysts on the street and this will greatly help visibility. If you've noticed, when companies have trouble giving guidance or clarifying visibility issues with analysts that is when they get slammed!!!!

bob, << XIRC and little competition, clue #1 >>

They have little to no competition, yet they still come up short.
Unloaded 50% at a 1 point loss. Another 2 points and Jerk Gates will
be a lost memory. Long on XIRC, up to 14 that is. Too many bargains
with positive p/e's out there to wait on management to get fixed.
