Hi Don: Nope I don't have a problem with what you're saying *at all*..

Even though it happened to be Lisa, everyone gets "jaded" now and then (except me <grin> ... I stay my same crummy, grumpy, sarcastic, SOB, principled self with consistency <ggg>). She's a big girl.

But seriously, I agree with you, and you're right, and this is a "perfect example" of what I wrote about in the PR section of the "white paper" to Novell (go back and read it -- it's still fit's almost a year later).

Now, one would think (at least I would) that Slitz (I think he's got that job) would be "in the FACE of IBD and Lisa ... You know MSFT does it. This has been IMO (and Paul's and Salah's, and BP's and, and...well a lot of other people including Novell employees both current and "ex") opinion for the longest time. They just let all this stuff get published and they don't make a stink about it. The ONLY thing they went to the mat on was NDS on NT (and man, you KNOW they had to on that one and you know why too). But, the "perception" thing builds and builds and builds over time (a long time), and the "general attitude" of the people that are "perceiving you" is very hard to change unless you get very "dramatic".

Here's another golden opportunity for them to beat their chests. But you know what? They won't. Why? I dunno anymore. That's why I said I would be out of this stock in 1998 and I am.

Ever since, I've been doing pretty good with CPQ, DELL, ORCL, INTC, and lately CS. I also am almost ready to jump on GIC (I'm starting to like the NEW Nextlevel <g>). So, I guess it will take a lot of time for Novell's "turnaround".

Regards,

Joe...<a lot of time... I don't "trade" so I got sick and tired of 1/32, 1/64, 1/16 spreads + or - .. you know what I mean? I like "whole number" jumps -- they're easier to follow and less frustrating <g>>
