First a Protopapa, then a brief peripapatic stretch in the hospital (tho' she stretched a lot more than moi), and now Proud Papa.

I sent this in an e-mail recently, but I wanna sum up for my friends here. The one thing that leaves me mildly carbonated with awe (other than the usual oh-cools of new parenthood) is my undamaged sense of continuity. During the pregnancy, through the birth process, this first week of being a three-count family - I felt a smooth progression from one moment to the next. Like this was right&good. I think this daddy thing will work out, and the husband trip is going strong.

Speaking of dogs being used as weapons, Jeff, I was just e-mailing a friend with this true story of the distressing goings-on next door:

"I got one for ya - new neighbor lady has a little dog that literally
runs around the front yard in a circle, like a grey hoola hoop. The
missus stands on the porch and yells: "Muffin! Muffin!"
Troot."

I had to hear this.
