Keith,

My friend talked to YURI's CFO today and he reported soome news on the YAHOO! YURI messege board.
Basically, what he said is pretty encouraging:
1) YURI has urged Reuters to make it clear that their PES withe exclusion of Data Labs acquisition is 0.12, which is what the analysts looking for. And YURI beat fdirst call by 33%. Both COwen and B.T. Alex Brown congratulated YURI on a very good performance last quarter and the whole yer of 97.
2) FIrst call has FY 98 and 99 EPS as 0.46 and 0.80. These give YURI a 64% growth rate in the next two years and using these nembers, YURI is being traded at trailing and forward PE growth ratio at 0.76 and 0.44. A vast undervaluing issue.
3) The company has no hidden bad news and is very confident about the first call for the next two years. Hidden tone indicated that they should beat 0.46 EPS for 98 handily. WHy the stock is dropping then? He pointed out that the issue was being traded at 20 last Friday and this afternoon's drop has to ber considered a profit taking, or is related to sth that the company does not know.
4) Do they fear the competition from the likes of CSCO? With the backup of Lu, Bay, and Ericsson, YURI is ready to face any kind of competition. Actually CSCO is not even their major rivalry.
5) The company will always try their best to grow revenue and EPS at a high and healthy rate. The talk about a takeover by Lu is totally bullshit at least now. If a great deal is put on the table and the company believes that it is good for its share holders, they will take it.
6) Insider selling. There was inded some insider unloading of the issue in Dec., but only accounts for less than 20% of their holdings. I did not catch his further explanation. The tight flaot (8 mm) makes it very easy for MM to move the price in either way.

Finally I see that YURI makes at least 13% upside gain since last Friday on heavy volume. This is not a bad sign. I think that both in the short term and long term, the issue will do well. It will definitely test 29 by the end of Feb., and should test 40 within 12 months.

good luck,
larry

Keith,

I think your calculations are great. But do you really think Yuri will maintain their market share? This is the basis of my argument. I think they're going to begin feeling the heat during the 2H CY 98. In 3 years I think YURI will be lucky (very lucky at that) to hold 10% share. This of course assumes they aren't bought before then.

Yes, Keith I'm long, but this is a short term trade as I see it.
